When you join Dentons, you’ll be given all the responsibility you can handle. We believe that people learn best by running parts of real deals and cases, meeting with clients and taking your place in the fast-paced and increasingly global world of business. Only then can you gain the experience you need to prepare you for the daily pressures of your professional career. At Dentons, you’ll get it almost from day one. What’s more, you’ll be welcomed into a team globally renowned for its expertise who will help you develop your skills and knowledge in an open and supportive environment.
There’s no such things as a ‘typical’ trainee solicitor at Dentons and that’s the way we like it. The expertise within our Firm is as diverse as the needs of our global clients. Our clients are people with a wide range of skills, aptitudes and personalities and so it is essential that our people are too. All they have in common is the ability to contribute to our growing success.
Our clients particularly want to work with well-rounded individuals who have hobbies and interests away from work, so think about what makes you stand out from the crowd.
Being enthusiastic about tackling all tasks, both big and small, is essential, as is having the drive and ambition that will enable you to succeed in a highly demanding work environment. As a Dentons trainee, you’ll need to be able to manage a varied workload, whilst maintaining an appreciation of the intricacies, all of which provide the foundations of exceptional client service.
We accept vacation scheme and training contract applications from penultimate-year law students, final-year law and non-law students and those who have completed their undergraduate law or non-law degree. You must have, or expect to achieve, at least a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of ABB at A Level.

Dentons is different. At a time when the legal market is changing so rapidly, being the biggest law firm on the planet puts Dentons in an enviable position; there’s never been a more exciting time to join us.
With over 165 locations in more than 70 countries, we offer a world of opportunity for your career, not least because our scale and size means we work on such a large range of diverse transactions. This means trainees at Dentons get more meaningful exposure earlier, and have greater access to their clients' worlds than they might at other firms.
One of the defining features of Dentons is what we call our polycentric approach: we have no one global headquarters. That doesn’t mean we don’t have a distinct identity, rather it signifies that our firm’s culture reflects the diversity of our clients and of the communities in which we work and live. You will be part of a truly global proposition and have the opportunity to work with the very best legal minds from around the world, wherever that might be.
Similarly, our CSR work is truly global; our goal is to be one of a small group of law firms that significantly improves its profitability, its brand, its quality rankings, and its position in the marketplace in one generation while having a positive social impact on the communities in which we live and work.
The security offered by our size and scale is reinforced by a clear vision of what our clients need Dentons to be in the future. When you’re the biggest law firm in the world, innovation is part of your DNA. Whether that’s reimagining the business of law, developing new technologies to improve efficiency or enhancing talent management approaches to best serve our clients, we’re leading the way. Joining us will put you at the heart of legal innovation.
At Dentons you can be a part of a firm that offers more presence in more places. Dentons is different.
