Our innovative programme offers an alternative to university and gives you the opportunity to qualify as a solicitor and be awarded an LLB university degree.
Our six-year programme combines work-based learning in our London office and part-time study with BPP University. You will earn a salary and have no university fees to pay.
You will be required to attain the standard required for qualification as a solicitor, demonstrating legal competence, acting with integrity and professionalism and exercising sound judgement.
Who we’re looking for
There’s no typical candidate for our apprenticeship programme. The expertise within our Firm is as diverse as the needs of our global clients – and we want to keep it that way. We look for people with a wide range of skills, aptitudes and personalities, with the potential to contribute to our growing success.
You will need to be resilient, hard working and have the drive and ambition to succeed in a highly demanding work environment.
We need to see a strong record of academic and extra-curricular achievement. Ideally, we would like to see seven GCSEs at grade B/grade 6 or above (including maths and English) and A,B,B at A-level.
How to apply
Complete our online application which we will review. If you’re successful at this point you’ll be invited to take an online critical thinking exercise, which assesses your ability to digest and understand situations and information.
If you do well here, you will be invited to complete a video interview. This is your opportunity to bring your application to life in a quick and easy recorded interview that you can complete in your own home.
If we like what we see in your video interview, we will invite you to attend our assessment centre in February.
Our assessment centre consists of three components:
1. Commercial exercise and interview
During the commercial exercise you will be asked to analyse information, reach conclusions and generate ideas. You will need to present your findings to two interviewers (a recruitment manager and a lawyer) and answer their questions. You will then be asked some general competency based questions.
2. Written exercise
This will be a short essay question completed on a laptop. This exercise will assess your grammar and spelling, as well as how you use logic to structure a good argument.
3. Verbal reasoning exercise
You will be asked to read passages of information and answer multiple choice questions. This exercise will assess your cognitive skills and how easily you can understand and interpret data.
