Job description

At Dounreay we can give you an experience like no other. On joining our two year programme you will gain front line practical experience whilst having the opportunity to develop your professional qualifications and accreditations. The programme is built around project placements within operational, projects or support functions together with appropriate short-term secondments. This is designed to support you gaining Chartered Status. By joining Dounreay Site Restoration Limited (DSRL) you will be taking the first steps towards a challenging and rewarding career in the nuclear decommissioning industry.

Company information

DSRL is the site licence company responsible for the demolition and clean-up of the UK's former centre of fast reactor research and development.

DSRL's parent body is the Cavendish Dounreay Partnership, a consortium of UK and US based global companies which in 2012 was awarded a contract by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority to complete the decommissioning programme at Dounreay.

With a workforce of around 1200, DSRL is acknowledged as Scotland's largest decommissioning project and is widely recognised as Europe's most complex nuclear closure programme.

Person requirements

We are seeking graduates who are keen to pursue a challenging and demanding career within the nuclear industry and who are looking to apply and develop their technical ability in a practical and dynamic environment within a team based organisation. On successful completion of the programme you will be considered for a permanent role within one of our major project or suport functions.

Qualifications and experience requirements

Applicants must have achieved or expect to achieve a 2:1 BSc/BA Hons in an engineering, science, business or related subject. Masters level qualifications are preferred.
