We have an exciting opportunity for a Packaging Buyer graduate to join our business. Working in fast-paced food manufacturing environment gaining a hands-on experience across all aspects of packaging business within the business with a focus on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

This graduate role will ensure you gain a wide range of packaging buying experience through continuous on the job development with coaching and mentoring. Your role will see you tackle a wide range of business challenges in a busy meat production environment. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the seamless flow of materials to support the company’s commitment to delivering exceptional products while maintaining cost effectiveness and sustainability;
  • Co-ordinating daily and weekly stock levels through daily compilation of buy sheets;
  • Maintaining weekly packaging forecast and liaising with suppliers;
  • Preparing daily purchase orders and updating on receipt of delivery notes;
  • Approving invoices;
  • Tracking orders to ensure that deliveries which have been received are correct and liaising with suppliers on any issues;
  • Liaising with external warehouse and transport companies;
  • Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications and raise disputes where necessary.
  • Liaise with the Production, Purchasing, NPD, Finance, Technical and Operations teams to ensure a smooth running of the business.
  • Working with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Degree in a related discipline;
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen;
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • Highly motivated, ambitious and commercially minded;
  • Excellent time management;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Experience of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to adapt to change in highly competitive fast paced environment;
  • Understanding of team dynamics, demonstrating the ability to work as an active and constructive member of a team with a professional enthusiastic attitude;
  • The successful candidate must, by the commencement of employment, have the right to work in the UK.
