Graduate Project Manager opportunity

We are looking for high-calibre Graduates to join our team of bright professionals at DXC Technology. Within the Graduate Project Manager role, you’ll have the chance to work on a diverse range of cutting-edge IT projects, surrounded by industry-leading experts. This will provide the opportunity to fulfil your career goals while being part of an established global company.

You will have a great deal of responsibility from day one, which will involve working in high performing teams and delivering client facing tasks. As you progress in your role at DXC Technology, we envisage you will develop your skills, increase your level of responsibility, and become involved with larger, more stimulating projects

In addition to your client project work, you will have the opportunity to get involved in several business improvement initiatives, and to take part in a wide range of formal and informal learning sessions, which will support your professional development and help in shaping your career. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside client and contractor teams, thereby gaining knowledge of project delivery from all perspectives.

The role

You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of our services, gaining a wide range of experiences supporting projects at every stage.

You will be ensuring that designated projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality. You will be required to assist and deliver in the following tasks:

  • Understanding what the client or company wants to achieve
  • Agreeing the timescales, costs and resources needed to deliver the project
  • Drawing up a detailed plan for how to achieve each stage of the project
  • Selecting and leading a project team
  • Negotiating with contractors and suppliers for materials and services
  • Reporting regularly on progress to the client
  • Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders
  • Resolving any issues/delays which may occur
  • Reviewing project procedures
  • Making sure everything is on time, within budget and built to the required standards
  • Giving clear timescales and objectives to clients and the team
  • Communicating with clients, contractors, colleagues and suppliers on the progress of a project

As your Graduate programme progresses and you gain more knowledge and experience you will be given increased responsibility in the delivery of projects.

Location

As an organisation we are predominantly Virtual First meaning you get the flexibility of working from home and opportunities to meet with your team to discuss project ad-hoc, but on some occasions, we do have roles that are within various base locations across the region. We do expect anyone applying to the roles to be flexible and be prepared to travel when required for your role.

What we are looking for

  • The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to project management.
  • Have a project management, business management, or related IT degree
  • A flexible approach to work and able to adapt to change
  • Industrial placement year completed in project management is preferred but not essential
  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Effective time and task management and leadership skills
  • Excellent organisation and verbal communication skills are essential and the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people
  • Ability to use initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail, must be able to demonstrate accurate report writing
  • Energetic and self-motivated, you must be a team player with a flexible approach
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office
  • We will consider students with a minimum 2:1 and who have completed their degree in the last two years.
