Security Consulting Graduate Programme

Security Consulting Graduate Programme

Job description

Security is at the forefront of everything we do here at DXC Technology, as we look to support our wide customer base in the UK and beyond.

The two-year programme
As a graduate in our Security Consulting Graduate Programme, you will develop skills to support a long and healthy career in the cyber industry with DXC, learning from subject matter experts across a range of disciplines, capabilities and technologies.

Typical assignments
You might yourself working in a small team to provide Threat and Vulnerability services to the client, running penetration testing, ethical hacking and simulated attacks.

'I studied Computer Forensics at the University of Glamorgan for four years and achieved a 2:1 for my post HND (BSc Hons).

After graduating in 2013, with no consulting skills or experience in the security industry, finding a job proved difficult. Luckily I was accepted to the graduate scheme which was offered by DXC Technology which allowed me to develop the aforementioned skills.

I joined the Threat and Vulnerability (TVM) team as a graduate in November 2013. Throughout my two years as a graduate I developed the skills and experience to: perform security audits, lead an alerting team for vulnerability management and perform penetration tests (ethical hacking). Due to the flexibility and various opportunities available to me, I decided to specialise in penetration testing after completing the graduate scheme. There's nothing more exciting than being to exploit a computer network or web application!

The TVM team is full of talented security consultants that willingly impart their knowledge to those who desire to become a well-rounded security consultant. There is a high level of support from the TVM team however, I also had to invest a lot of time and effort to achieve the CREST CHECK Team Member certificate which enables me to perform penetration tests for various clients that require this recognised qualification. I certainly do not consider this a 9-5 job and have invested many hours to online training and challenges that further hone my skills as a security consultant.

Working for the TVM team has been a pleasure. They always endeavour to ensure you are comfortable with the role you are assigned. There's a stable work-life balance and you receive all the support you need. Although I'm no longer a graduate, I still continue to grow and learn new things within the security industry'. Tom.
