Personal Tax Centre Apprenticeship

Still recruiting throughout COVID‑19

Job description

Help clients meet their tax obligations whilst you progress towards becoming a qualified tax advisor.

At EY, no question is too small, too ambitious or too imaginative. We use our curiosity to ask better questions, that inspire better answers. That’s how we build a better working world.

With clients that range from aspiring entrepreneurs to the UK's leading financial institutions, you’ll help our clients navigate the complex and ever-changing demands of UK tax legislation. You’ll guide, assist and advise. You’ll build strong relationships that lead to bigger responsibilities. And you’ll define what it means to be in tax in our technological era. Here, your career is truly yours to build. Experience our world. Your way.

As a function, Tax has changed more than ever in the past five years. Not only is Tax broader in its operations, but it’s also more digital. From bots that do our number crunching to artificial intelligence that inspires our innovations, Tax is no longer bound to Excel, it’s boundless. Tax is one of our most central business areas and we work across our entire organisation to shape strategies of the future.

Technology in Personal Tax Centre

Technology and innovation is transforming the way we offer tax services to our clients. We work on the design and implementation of digital tax solutions to meet all their needs. Recent projects include a mobile application built to deliver personal tax services to individuals; using artificial intelligence and document intelligence to extract tax data; data analytic tools; and finding new and innovative ways in digitalizing Tax.

What will you be doing?

You’ll build a career that’s yours to own. With infinite opportunities to lead, learn and transform, we’ll empower you to use your voice to influence decisions and build a world as unique as you. Here you will:

  • Specialise in personal tax within financial services
  • Help deliver personal tax compliance, tax reporting and/or advisory services as part of a team
  • Build important relationships with clients and senior stakeholders
  • Help clients transition to the new government digital platform

Are you eligible to apply?

We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will, however, need a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and maths, and to have completed three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) by the time the programme starts. Further requirements may be required, please check the website for more guidance.

“I'm happy I chose an apprenticeship over university, it's given me first-hand work experience and the opportunity to study for a qualification without student debt. I'd recommend it to anyone.” - Daniel, Personal Tax Centre Apprentice
