Job description

Set a course for the future.

At the heart of an intelligence agency.

At GCHQ, every single person plays a vital role in keeping the country safe. We have a unique legal mandate to operate in the interests of national security; combatting terrorism and hostile cyber activity; we prevent serious crime, and we ensure the country's economic well-being. The Future Leaders Programme gives you the chance to join our next generation of talented, inspiring, and committed leaders.

This is the perfect opportunity for those with natural leadership skills, who enjoy collaborating with different teams, and want to work in an ever-evolving technological world. With a bespoke mix of on-the-job and formal training, you’ll learn and think on your feet from day one – tackling interesting assignments across GCHQ. In fact, you could even find yourself working at different locations around the UK or overseas. It means that within five years, you’ll have built up exceptional experience, honed your skillset, and be ready to step into a senior role as a leader.

Your day-to-day activities will be far from ordinary, as you liaise with government officials one minute, and cyber experts or overseas counterparts the next. Over the course of the programme, you’ll gain a deep understanding of how we solve the unsolvable, have excellent support from mentors, and be part of a close-knit group of Future Leaders. Our culture is collaborative and inclusive, and we encourage a healthy work/life balance. That’s why we offer flexible working around your personal life.

For a fulfilling and unparalleled career path with real-world impact, join GCHQ and help make the UK a safer, more prosperous place.
