Project Control Officer

Job description

As a Project Control Officer, you’ll join our award-winning Programme Management Office and provide support that’s crucial to our success. This role has a strong focus on risk, planning and finance, so you’ll use your skill with numbers to support our team and do work that’s as varied as our missions. You could be preparing data for meetings, ensuring financial information is up-to-date or completing detailed monthly governance tasks. You’ll need to be adaptable, detail-orientated and ready to tackle your responsibilities with a positive attitude.

Plus, you’ll work closely with project managers, stakeholders and customers. As a confident communicator, you’ll engage with people at all levels. Thriving on collaboration, you’ll overcome unique obstacles and excel at making financial information clear and understandable. You’ll enjoy explaining financial details, whether providing insights, identifying trends or running financial risk workshops, sharing your passion for numbers to deliver reliable information that supports a range of transformational projects.

As you gain experience, opportunities for promotion or progression into the Service Management Team, Project Management Team or other areas within the organisation will become available to you. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to become a subject matter expert in various techniques, enhancing your expertise and making a significant contribution to our mission.

From the start, you’ll receive dedicated support and training to help you settle in, including a detailed induction and plenty of on-the-job training. Plus, you’ll be part of a friendly, knowledgeable community of colleagues with different skills, perspectives, and experiences, ready to share their expertise and also learn from you. Throughout your career, you’ll have access to tailored training, coaching, and mentoring so you can continually build new skills.

In addition to the dedicated training and development package, you’ll receive a starting salary of £34,663 as well as a host of other benefits including 25 days’ annual leave (rising to 30 after 5 years’ service), an interest-free season ticket loan, paid parental and adoption leave, and access to our on-site facilities including a gym, restaurant and on-site coffee bars (at some locations).

We’re proud of our inclusive and supportive working environment that's designed to encourage open minds and attitudes. We’re committed to helping you fulfil your potential, and ensuring you feel confident being your true self at work. We also have a range of thriving, active affinity networks run by staff that champion awareness around ethnicity, gender, disability, neurodiversity, LGBTQIA+ and more.

Flexible working hours

We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer flexible working options to suit your needs. While homeworking is limited and not guaranteed due to the nature of the role, we support full-time, part-time (minimum 3 days) and compressed hours working patterns.
