Company information
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)
The Synthetic Biochemistry Group is an enterprise group within the Cell and Gene Therapy department supporting several business areas within R&D (Research and Development) and GMS (Global Manufacturing and Supply). Based in Stevenage, our group’s mission is to provide biocatalysis tools to replace traditional synthetic chemistry methods used in the production of small molecule APIs (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients), by introducing enzymes to gain higher stereochemical control of reactions, reducing the amount of organic solvents and minimising the impact of our processes on the environment.
