Training Administrator

Job description

We’re looking for a super-administrator to support and work closely with our learning and Development Trainer, covering a period of maternity leave for up to 12 months.

Ideally starting as soon as possible, or by the end of June, you’ll join our friendly, family-owned business on a full-time, fixed-term contract and work at our head office in Benson, Oxfordshire, receiving a competitive salary and attractive benefits.

As our Training Administrator you’ll play a hugely important part in the smooth-running of our learning and development courses, which range from New Manager through to IT training, such as Excel.

Whether delivered by our Learning and Development Trainer or external providers in the modern training suite at our head office, you'll be part of every stage: scheduling (you've got to like lists!); inviting and greeting delegates; preparing the room; providing lunch and refreshments; occasionally booking hotel rooms (for employees attending courses elsewhere); organising the handouts; follow-up evaluations. You might even identify the training need in the first place.

You'll be a key part of our Induction-3 days for recent new starters, which include visiting another site, and you'll also do all the behind-the-scenes prep for our mandatory driver training courses, including scheduling, booking and getting the training materials ready.

In short, you'll deal with every part of our diverse and interesting business, and every new starter in a huge range of different roles, so fantastic communication skills are essential. You'll mix with delegates but also build up strong relationships with managers across the company.

This is a full-time position and your working hours will be 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, with one hour for lunch - a total of 35 hours.

Benefits and perks

You'll receive a competitive salary and attractive benefits, including:

  • Pension scheme – auto-enrolment on your first day of employment. You contribute 5% of pay (true cost is less than this due to Income Tax and NI relief) and Grundon matches this.
  • Health Cash Plan to help you manage the cost of your everyday healthcare, such as dentist and optician (you pay a small monthly premium).
  • Employee Assistance Programme – confidential and accessible 24/7.
  • Perks at Work reward and discount scheme that covers everything from cinema and leisure attractions to fashion purchases and food shopping.
  • Discounted gym membership at participating gyms.

So, if you're looking for a varied and rewarding long-term assignment that you can really get stuck into, then we’d love to hear from you.

What we are looking for

Organised, good attention to detail, a sticker for accuracy, confident, sociable, flexible... our Training Administrator needs to have many qualities

Patience and flexibility are also a must as there's inevitably some rescheduling due to cancellations, and waiting-list juggling. And accuracy is vital because you'll be uploading training records to a portal and our HR system, and double-checking that names are spelt correctly on delegate lists.

You’ll also need to have good IT skills, including databases.

Accepted degree subjects
