New perspectives and fresh ideas. Diversity within our workforce gives us the competitive edge we need to stay out in front. As an ambitious female undergraduate engineer, you’ll join us every summer during your degree and, if appropriate, for your Industrial Placement too.
Contributing to our global success from the moment you arrive, you’ll be involved in real projects that make a real impact. And as you work with our teams of expert engineers on the production of our incredible cars, you’ll build valuable experience that will not only supplement your academic studies but could act as a springboard to a future career with us.
Rewards and benefits
Your innovation and creativity will be challenged every day, as you develop a rigorous and commercially focused approach in your work. And, with on-going support from industry leading experts and continual learning opportunities, you’ll quickly realise that our programmes have been designed to be as inspiring as the pioneering vehicles you’ll help produce.
Whichever part of the business you join your hard work and contribution deserves recognition. You’ll receive a competitive salary of around £326 per week, or £17,000 per annum. For those on placements of longer than three months there is a generous holiday allowance. There are a range of other benefits and regular social events so plenty of chances to make friends and have fun too.
Remember that we’ll give a £1,500 bursary to you when you return to us for your next placement.
This undergraduate placement has a fixed start date of 22 June 2019 and will run for a duration of three, six or 15 months.
What we are looking for
Excellence runs throughout our entire business and we expect you to be the same. You’ll be working towards a degree in any engineering discipline at 2:2 level or higher. Driven, determined to learn and with impressive commercial awareness, you’ll have no doubts that our Engineering Sponsorship Scheme for Women is the next challenge for you.
This opportunity is open to students who are in their first year of study and penultimate year students (i.e. students who will be returning to their final year of study following their placement with us); or returning to university to study a Masters.
Jaguar Land Rover will not support any applications for visa sponsorship for this role and all applicants must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK for an indefinite period or be in possession of a current T4 student visa.
