Are you looking for a new challenge, perhaps working with students with a range of learning needs?
We are a successful and highly inclusive school with a dedicated, supportive and forward-thinking team of learning support assistants.
Your main duties will be to support students with their learning in lessons and to work with them individually and in small groups. We wish to appoint colleagues who:
- Have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Are able to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience of, or interest in, supporting students with a range of individual needs
The position would suit those considering a teaching career (opportunities exist, for suitable candidates, to be sponsored for teacher training in the future) wishing to gain experience in a mainstream secondary school, or seeking experience working with teenagers in a supportive role in a stimulating environment. We can offer both casual and permanent contracts to suit your career progression.
- Actual salary for permanent contracts approx. £14,400
- Casual contract salary: £85 per day
- Full time - 34 hours per week, term time only/40 weeks per year approx.
(Mon, Wed and Thurs 8.15-3.30, Tues 8.15-4.30, Fri 8.15-2.15)
We appoint on potential as well as experience, and we are committed to supporting staff development. Several non-teaching colleagues have trained with us as teachers on Schools Direct and other similar programmes and have benefited from financial support for MA courses. Our admissions policy includes priority places for the children of all colleagues including support staff*
*(Children, Jewish and non-Jewish, of JCoSS staff who have a permanent contract of employment and have completed two years of service on the last day of the summer term of the academic year prior to application)
Our location and community
The school is in beautiful new £48m buildings overlooking the Green Belt. It is easily accessible from Northern, Piccadilly and Overground rail links and buses run past the entrance. We attract students from eloquent and supportive communities across North London and Hertfordshire. We are planning an expansion in response to over-subscription.
Starting: September 2018.
