Job description
Responsible to the HR Manager, you will be supporting day-to-day HR activity, covering but not limited to the following areas:
- Administrative support: maintaining the employee database systems, arranging meetings and appointments, handling incoming and outgoing post.
- Answering enquiries: providing an initial response to internal and external enquiries from existing staff members, managers and candidates for vacancies.
- Assisting with recruitment: publishing and editing job listings, arranging interviews and communicating directly with candidates.
- Assisting with onboarding: leading orientation for new employees and giving information about benefits.
- Assisting with annual leave and absence reporting
- Payroll and benefits: assisting with payroll processing and employee benefits administration.
- Producing documents: updating employee handbooks and newsletters and writing letters and reports
- Recruitment support: maintaining the applicant tracking system (ATS); CV screening and administration
- Coordinating events - interview/assessment day coordination
- Supporting on ad-hoc projects
The succesful candidate will receive:
- Starting salary £28,000 + £2,700 area allowance (total £30,700)
- Quarterly bonus (guaranteed £4,000 in year one)

What we are looking for
- Ability to accurately document, record and maintain information and data
- Able to establish and maintain professional interpersonal relationships
- Ability to work with high self-direction and flexibility, especially with respect to taking initiative, prioritising multiple tasks, and using good judgment to resolve problems
- Can do’ attitude, with a methodical approach to work and strong prioritisation skills
- Team player
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Integrity – the role requires appropriate handling of confidential and sensitive information
- Must be educated to degree level (Bachelor’s degree)
- CIPD level 3 or above is desirable but not essential
- Good knowledge of Microsoft-based applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
