This BSc Honours degree programme, in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, will give you a professional career pathway into the fast growing and exciting construction Industry, opening up a wide variety of career opportunities, including:

On this fully-funded degree programme you will attend four one-week teaching blocks each year in Sheffield, where accommodation and meals will also be provided. The rest of the year you will be working full-time, gaining valuable experience towards your professional development.

What you’ll do
You’ll work alongside experienced Construction Managers on a project section or work package, where you’ll learn to manage on-site health and safety and quality, and the establishment and use of environmental restrictions. You will also learn to liaise with third parties such as councils and utilities, manage subcontractors, and report on the project’s progress.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be at least 18 years of age, with GCSE grade C in both maths and English plus one of the following:

  • Two A-levels
  • BTEC National Certificate or Diploma or Extended Diploma in building, construction, civil engineering or quantity surveying
  • Advanced Diploma in construction or built environment
  • Other level-three BTEC Certificates or Diplomas will also be considered, preferably with some construction related experience

Mature applicants without formal qualifications will be considered on merit, taking into account relevant work experience (you'll need at least five years’ experience under your belt) and previous qualifications.
