DevOps Software Engineer (KTP Associate)

Job description

KTP is one of the UK's largest graduate recruitment schemes. This position offers a talented DevOps Software Engineer the opportunity to join a fast growing and creative manufacturing organisation with a highly driven management team who are intent on significantly expanding the business.

The University and the company are seeking to recruit a high calibre graduate to lead on the design and deployment of modern software engineering tools and methods, applied to the automation of structural design and manufacture of masonry support systems. You will be based at the company’s offices in Leeds and will work directly with company staff and its R&D unit. Support in software engineering and quality management processes will be provided by experts at Sheffield Hallam University. Some travel to and from the University will be expected.

The appointment carries a range of further benefits including:

  • Excellent mentored experience in managing a high-profile project
  • A generous personal development budget in addition to formal off-site KTP management training
  • Automatic inclusion in our defined benefit pension scheme
  • The opportunity to register for a higher degree for which tuition fees will be waived

Although the appointment is initially fixed term, it is possible that a permanent position will be available within the company upon successful completion of the project.

For non-EU applicants, we are unlikely to be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this job (unless you are switching from a UK student visa), so you should only apply if you already have unrestricted permission to work in the UK.

What we are looking for

Ideally, you will have a Master's degree in software engineering/computing or equivalent with an interest in manufacturing. A good first degree with appropriate software development experience may be acceptable.
