Process Modelling Engineer

Job description

This is an exciting new opportunity for Bachelor and Masters level candidates to participate in an Innovate UK funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project involving WMG at the University of Warwick and R53 Engineering Ltd (R53). R53 is a fast growing and successful company that provides effective suspension solutions for high performance industries such as motorsports, defence, automotive, and likes to develop a digital route to predict the performance and lifetime of suspensions, using continuum fluid dynamics (CFD) and mechanics modelling.

The aim of the KTP is to support the development and implementation of fluid flow and mechanics modelling capabilities in order to provide a digital route for suspension optimisation. R53 has extensive expertise in experimental measurements but modelling capabilities as yet are in their infancy. This is a great opportunity for a mechanical or process engineer with experience in modelling, fluid flow and mechanical systems, to acquire an advanced level of skills in industrial manufacturing and assembly systems with support from University experts.

Primarily based at R53 in the town of Warwick, you will be working as part of a collaborative research project and must work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, including carrying out occasional experimental measurements.

This position is a 29-month fixed term contract and offers a dedicated training budget up to £4,800 tailored towards your personal development.

What we are looking for

You should be able to take responsibility and have the confidence and ability to embed the new knowledge to the engineering team through training, paired working and via a number of other methods. Interest in novel technologies, innovative engineering approaches, and a solid engineering background and culture would be highly valuable, as well as the ability to plan the project and successfully deliver a final solution.
