Job description

We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified and motivated individual to work on an Innovate UK funded, collaborative Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between WCN Plc and the UCL Department of Computer Science.

The main duty of the post holder is to lead and successfully deliver the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between UCL and WCN to use data science and machine learning techniques to develop intelligent models to support recruitment process, particularly in identifying the best candidate applications for a given role or the best role for a given candidate, thereby embedding significant capabilities in WCN for future growth.

The post is available as soon as possible and is funded for 28 months in the first instance.

Appointment at grade seven is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, the appointment will be at Research Assistant grade 6B.

Person requirements

Qualifications and experience requirements

The successful candidate will have a good first degree in computer science (or closely related subject) and a masters-level qualification in data science (Big data analytics, machine learning or other closely related subject); we welcome applicants with a PhD. You should also have experience of conducting high quality computer science research and be able to demonstrate very good knowledge and experience of high level programming languages. The candidate should also possess knowledge of machine learning, information retrieval, recommender systems, NLP (Word Embedding) and Knowledge of network analysis or complex network theory.
