L’Arche UK is part of an international federation of intentional communities where people with and without learning disabilities live together, working for a world where all belong.
For 40 years L'Arche UK has been providing high quality person centred care, but we're far more than a service provider. We are communities of people with and without disabilities living, working and celebrating together. Our vision is a world where all belong.
About the role
Are you passionate about working with people with learning disabilities? Build your experience in a unique community setting as a live-in assistant at L'Arche.
Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you with a comprehensive programme of opportunities for professional and personal development including individual and team reflection, retreats, a full induction (including sign language, personal care and understanding autism) and opportunities for professional and personal development.
However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives. See here for more information: larche.org.uk/what-we-value
In a world that rewards success and winning, L'Arche communities are places where people can take time to explore who they are, not just what they can do. They are places of welcome where people are transformed by the experience of community, relationship, disability and difference.
