This is an opportunity to join a highly skilled electronics team at the Basildon site. We are experts in the design and implementation of:
- Mixed signal ADC/DAC and FPGA based Circuit Card Assemblies
- Rugged subsystems based on FPGA, CPU, ADC/DAC modules
- High performance signal processing, communications and control algorithms
- In this role you will design better, cheaper products and get them to market rapidly. The challenge is to develop robust designs, and to demonstrate that they will function reliably in harsh environments over a lifetime of use through a rigorous regime of functional, environmental qualification.
You will work as part of a cross-discipline team to deliver a project. You will be given responsibility for your own work, and your own development. The role will include a combination of tasks, dependent on the specific project placement.
There will be opportunities to develop expertise in the design of circuits, FPGAs and subsystems at various stages in the product life cycle. This will include requirements capture, performance analysis, design, code, verification, validation and support to integration and qualification. You will gain exposure to other engineering disciplines and business areas.

You must be able to satisfy the necessary security clearance for the role applied for and meet a minimum of five years permanent residency in the UK.
All our roles require predicted minimum of an upper second class honours degree in a relevant discipline such as; BSc/BEng/MEng degree educated (electronics, or related subject).
Knowledge of electronics such as:
- Mixed signal digital and analogue circuit design
- Linear and switched mode PSU design
- Signal processing: FFT, FIR, DDC
- FPGA and System On Chip design, hard and soft core CPUs
- Communication and network protocols
- Experience of engineering software tools such as:
- Analogue/digital simulation
- Schematic and PCB layout
- FPGA design in VHDL/Verilog
- System modelling/simulation e.g. Matlab/Simulink
- Programming languages e.g. C/C++/Java etc.
- Scripting languages e.g. TCL/Python etc.
- Familiar with Digital/Analogue/RF instrumentation such as:
- Digital Oscilloscope
- Logic Analyser
- Spectrum Analyser
- Signal Generator
- An engineering and technology enthusiast
- A talented problem solver with an analytical approach
