You will undertake tasks potentially ranging from fundamental proof-of-concept research through detailed design and implementation support to prototype testing. This work will be conducted under the direction of an experienced engineer and will be designed to provide valuable insight into the industrial engineering lifecycle and achieve a defined conclusion within the placement period. The output of each task will be expected to add value to an ongoing project or contribute to a novel research topic relevant to the development of future systems and, during the placement period, the successful candidates will be required to provide regular briefings to key stakeholders. The work undertaken during the placement period will be technically challenging and the successful candidates will be required to work within a collaborative project environment using powerful design and simulation tools. The ability to take full ownership of assigned tasks, excellent communications skills, initiative, drive and enthusiasm will be the keys to success
Key Responsibility Areas
You will become familiar with general systems engineering techniques and develop an understanding of radar and advanced targeting sensors concepts as appropriate. Contribute effectively as a member of a project team or research group.
This is an office based role working full time hours for a fixed period using display screen equipment.

Qualifications and experience requirements
- Candidates will have completed at least two years of an electrical engineering, physics or mathematics related degree.
- No previous experience of radar systems is required
- Any experience of computer programming is useful but not essential
- High levels of interpersonal skills are essential as the role requires the constant liaison with engineering staff from a broad range of disciplinary backgrounds.
