Risk Management Graduate

Job description

Bring your passion for finding and solving problems before they arise, and help us challenge the status quo.

Qualifications: We’ll support you to achieve a professional risk qualification.

Protect 26 million people across the country
Identifying risk is critical to financial services – from technological threats to more traditional fraud cases – and it’s constantly evolving. Protecting our 26 million customers and 1 million businesses is at the heart of everything we do, and our Risk Management teams keep us one step ahead of ever-changing threats. Now we’re searching for new talent to join them. If you’re looking for a career with impact – we have a job for you. And the great news is you don’t need a business or finance degree to come and work with us.

Your career journey starts here
Are you a natural problem-solver who thinks strategically and can challenge assumptions? Do you look for innovative ways of doing things and encourage others to do the same? Are you eager to learn how a national organisation protects itself and its customers from different threats? If the answer is yes, you’ll be a great fit for our Risk Management teams. From identifying and resolving financial crime, to working on risk strategies for our products, you’ll build your leadership skills and help our business to make the right decisions for our customers across the UK.

About the programme
Over two years, you’ll complete three eight-month placements in different locations, working in a variety of areas to develop your strengths and learn more about how your career can develop through financial and non-financial risk roles. You’ll discover how our teams assess and analyse threats using robotics and cognitive computing, and how they deal with the risks that directly affect our frontline divisions. And, you’ll gain the skills to help us transform policy so that the way we safe-guard our organisation also helps protect our customers.

Day-to-day you could be:

  • Helping us to shape how Lloyds Banking Group manages risk
  • Developing your understanding of credit risk, risk analysis and financial modelling
  • Using artificial intelligence to simplify our risk management processes
  • Analysing risks within the financial markets
  • Creating bespoke customer strategies to help our commercial clients
  • Reviewing new technologies and their associated risks
  • Supporting our fraud and financial crime prevention work on strategies to assess emerging risks
  • Learning new leadership skills that will be invaluable for your future career

Your development
People work best when they feel happy and valued. That’s why you’ll receive the tools you need to develop the career you want – from mentoring, tailored learning and much more. We’ll support you to study for a professional risk qualification and you’ll also have the chance to lead on UK community volunteering initiatives.

The way we work
Everyone comes to Lloyds Banking group with different experiences, skills and knowledge, and these differences give us opportunities to learn and grow. It’s what makes our workplace unique and we encourage people from every kind of background to apply. It’s important for us, and it shows. Recently, we were named as one of The Times’ Top 50 Employers for Women for the 8th consecutive year, the Top Financial Employer and seventh overall in the 2019 Stonewall Top 100 employers list, and one of The Times’ Top 100 Graduate Employers.

As the largest digital bank in the UK we’re dedicated to helping Britain prosper. As part of our Group, you’ll not only represent Lloyds Bank but our other brands too, including Bank of Scotland, Scottish Widows and Halifax. Our focus is to become the bank of the future, and with over 15.9 million digitally active customers and nearly 10 million mobile app users, we’re constantly exploring how to bring new digital solutions to the people who rely on us.

Our Graduate Programmes are rotational and our Risk Management roles are based in various cities around the UK, including London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds, Halifax and Bristol.

Duration: Two years.
