Job description

Why join Man Group?

Man Group is committed to being an employer of choice for people from all backgrounds and to ensure their diverse workforce of the most talented people have the opportunity to reach their full potential. We believe in the importance of a meritocratic workplace, where success is based upon talent, commitment, diligence and teamwork. With a network of offices in key locations around the world, Man Group offers the opportunity to work alongside a range of exceptional people in a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial environment, whilst pursuing a successful and rewarding career.

What Does the Summer Internship Programme Offer?

Man Group's Summer internship analyst programme provides a unique opportunity to gain an internship at a leading, performance-driven, global investment management business. Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working in our investment management and sales teams.

As one of our interns you will gain a comprehensive introduction to our business. At the end of the programme, successful interns will receive offers to join the graduate programme the following year. Formal and on-the-job training will be provided to enable you to contribute to the business. You will also have direct access to Man Group's senior leadership team, as each intern will be mentored by a member of the Senior Management Team or Executive Committee.

In the words of our recent interns

“What I have enjoyed most during the internship was the degree of independence I have been entrusted with in approaching and carrying out my responsibilities – and now knowing that my work has been of value, not only to me from an educational perspective, but to the business as a whole. Above all, I have experienced Man Group as a place where you have limitless opportunity to learn and are encouraged to do so.”

“My internship at Man Group was everything I could have hoped for and more. I got given relevant work to do and received invaluable detailed insight into quant strategies. Everyone was so nice and willing to answer all of my questions. I have made friends during my time here that I hope to stay in contact with. If you are looking for intellectually stimulating work where you can be a valued member of a team then Man Group is definitely worth applying to.”

"In terms of support from everyone at Man AHL’s commodities team, I feel that they've gone above and beyond to support me technology-wise and conceptually with all of my projects."

"I particularly appreciate the level of responsibility and freedom I was given from the start. I felt motivated by being able to set my own goals and I found the work I performed to be challenging and stimulating."

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in Man FRM and I am very pleased with the work that I have been able to produce; it was particularly satisfying to know that the work was actually of use to the business rather than 'things to keep the intern busy'."

Work-Life Balance and Benefits at Man

Man Group is committed to providing the best working environment possible for all its employees and, as such, we support professional training and development as well as requests for flexible or part-time working.

Man Group also supports many charities and initiatives through the Man Charitable Trust, which aims to create positive change by supporting charitable organisations that focus on raising levels of literacy and numeracy in the UK and by offering employees opportunities to invest their time and expertise in charitable initiatives. We offer our employees a comprehensive benefits package, including private medical cover, discounted gym membership, on-site health assessments and flu vaccinations. To support our employees' extracurricular interests, we have a music room with a piano and guitars that can be booked by anyone, and we also offer lessons on-site.

Man Group employees receive a daily food allowance, which can be used in our staff restaurant. The restaurant has several theatre-style cooking stations, a sandwich bar and a coffee shop (all of which can cater to special dietary requirements), and free fruit is available from the kitchens on each floor. We also have a subsidised in-house bar and an employee discount scheme with a wide range of discounts, all of which help us to ensure that the firm is a great place to work.

In addition, Man Group sponsors the Man Booker literary prizes and hosts several internal events with the authors to celebrate these awards.
