Job description

As an Actuarial Trainee you will support various projects across general insurance pricing and reserving, life assurance, risk and capital management. You will be given early responsibility and will be involved in high-profile global projects.

The Actuarial team are pro-active and team-minded. Collaboration is a key requirement of the job as projects will involve various members of the team and contributing to and supporting the team is vital to the success of a project.

As an Actuarial Trainee, your typical daily duties will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of actuarial services to a wide range of clients within the insurance industry
  • Study towards professional qualification
  • Develop actuarial technical knowledge and business skills
  • Producing and analysing financial reporting figures
  • Producing models to answer client questions
  • Maintain professional working relationships with clients
  • Attend client social activities
  • Attend all training courses as required

Training Contract and Study Support
We will fund for you to study towards the FIFoA qualification.

You will receive a full study package and time off to study and attend college. Your professional qualification is only part of the story at Mazars; we support all of our trainees with a blended approach to training and development including classroom study, 1:1 coaching, and soft skills training to enable you to progress to management and leadership positions.

You will be given a mentor and an appraising manager to keep your career and aspirations on track.

Qualifications and experience requirements

  • 2:1 or above in any degree discipline
  • Minimum of 112 UCAS points (achieved in the same academic year, from your three best A-levels and excluding general studies). This is based on the new 2017 UCAS Tariff.
  • Grade B or above in GCSE English language and maths.
