Job description

As an Restructuring Services Trainee, your role is to be part of a team handling formal insolvency cases, such as administrations and liquidations of limited companies. The work involves the realisation of assets, such as the recovery of trade debtors, sales of property, plant and equipment and stocks, the agreement of creditors’ claims and the payment to them of dividends. In addition, we carry out investigations into the circumstances surrounding the failure of companies and deal with any consequent civil litigation that may be necessary as a result of our investigations and prepare formal reports to creditors and government departments.

Your time will be split between working at client premises, working in the office and studying for your professional exams.

During your training period, you will work for Senior Restructuring Services Administrators, or direct to Managers and Partners as your experience and skills develop. Colleagues who assign work to you will train you in how to carry it out, work alongside you and be available to assist you with any questions. You will potentially gain exposure to a number of different industries and organisations, from privately owned business (POB) up to major companies.

As a Restructuring Services Trainee, your typical daily duties will include:

  • Reviewing claims submitted by creditors and agreeing them to company records;
  • Handling asset realisations and liaising with professional advisors who assist us with this type of work:
  • Developing communication skills to build relationships with key stakeholders through our reports to them;
  • Utilising specialist insolvency software to record our work and transactions;
  • Attending client meetings and social activities;
  • Attending in-house technical training as required;
  • Developing an awareness of the various services provided by Mazars.

Training and Support

We will fund for you to study towards the ACA qualification.

You will receive a full study package to ensure that you successfully complete your professional qualification. This includes time off to study, attend college and complete online courses. Your professional qualification is only part of the story at Mazars; we support all of our trainees with a blended approach to training and development including classroom study, 1:1 coaching, and soft skills training.

You will be supported by a mentor and an appraising manager to keep your career and aspirations on track.

We recognise that benefits are important to you and our aim at Mazars is to give you as much choice as possible and to allow you to benefit from our buying power. We offer core benefits to all employees – holiday, pension, life assurance and income protection insurance. Beyond that we want you to be able to choose benefits that you want, rather than have all benefits chosen for you.

As a Mazars employee you also have access to a range of voluntary benefits including a shopping-discount platform, discounted phone contracts, gym memberships and interest free season ticket loans.
