The Missile Electronic Design department provides complex electronic solutions to meet the demanding needs of missile projects, starting at the beginning of the design process where we develop electronic architectures from requirements received. We have opportunities in missile electronics design teams, working alongside other skill areas such as Mechanical, Software and Test Systems engineers, all focussed on the goal of delivering effective electronics solutions.
What will you be doing?
As key members of the Missile Electronics Design department, successful candidates will develop an extensive knowledge and gain hands on experience in one or a combination of the disciplines below:
- Circuit design (Analogue, Digital, FPGA etc.);
- Analogue and Digital circuit test techniques and circuit design;
- Microwave / RF test measurement techniques and design;
- Automated instrumentation and control technologies;
- Analysis and characterisation techniques.
Summer Placement students will take part in a group project, run between the Test Systems, Embedded, Mechanical and Software departments. It will be a self-contained project responsible for delivering important demonstrable capabilities back into the company.

A practical knowledge of software development would be beneficial, but not essential.
Both the Undergraduate and Graduate Scheme within Electronics Engineering is accredited with the IET and Graduates are expected, and supported, to work towards C. Eng registration. I. Eng registration can also be supported where appropriate. Undergraduates are expected to work towards their Eng. Tech registration.
Qualifications and experience requirements
Graduates will be qualified to degree level or above (minimum 2:2 honours degree or equivalent) in electronic engineering, general engineering (with electronics) or related subjects.
