An exciting opportunity has arisen for an adaptable and enthusiastic graduate Human Factors (HF) Engineer looking to develop their HF skills and knowledge. You will play a vital role in a team considered to be an industry leader in Human Factors Integration (HFI).
The MBDA Early Careers Programme (ECP) is designed to ensure you have real responsibility and input to projects from an early stage. Human Factors work across a variety of projects will allow you to apply and develop your skills across a diverse range of scenarios, gaining wide-ranging, hands-on experience in the application of HF within the defence sector.
What will you be doing?
You will take a user-centred approach to provide input, feedback and guidance on the design of equipment, Human Computer Interfaces (HCI), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and user workspaces. In order to best represent the needs of the user in the design you will be required to engage closely with military users, gaining experience of how the equipment will be used, as well as their feedback and buy-in to the project.
Specific technical activities that recent graduates on the scheme have been involved in include:
- Anthropometric modelling using JACK software
- Workload analysis
- Situational Awareness assessments
- Manual handling trials
- HCI/HMI design

Qualifications and experience requirements
Hold or be working towards a minimum 2:2 honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in a related discipline (e.g. Ergonomics, Human Factors, Psychology, Systems Engineering).
