It takes many different bees to protect the hive.
At MI5, we protect the UK from all sorts of threats – from terrorism, through to cyber-attacks. On the Business Enablers Entry Scheme, you’ll develop all the skills you need to take on vital roles. Everything you do will support our intelligence business.
With the chance to work across a range of areas, you’ll develop a huge variety of experience. You’ll take on corporate roles in areas such as Finance, HR, Legal or Policy. These placements will usually last for around two to three years. Afterwards, you’ll get the chance to apply for other corporate roles across MI5. Based on how you’d like to progress your career, you’ll either move between departments or specialise in a certain field.
What we are looking for
We need people with a range of perspectives, who come from all walks of life. Only then can we tackle the threats we face. So there’s no one ‘type’ of Business Enabler. All you need is strong organisational skills, an eye for detail and the ability to work flexibly. We’ll also expect you to have – or be gaining by summer 2020 - a 2:2 degree in any discipline. Alternatively, you’ll have three of more years of relevant work experience. You’ll also be a strong communicator, able to build effective relationships with a diverse range of people.
