At MI5 Intelligence Officers play an essential role in keeping the country safe, which makes for one of the most challenging, stimulating and rewarding careers you can imagine. As the country faces increased threats to national security, your role as an Intelligence Officer gives you opportunity to have a tangible impact on the security of the UK.
On this programme, you could join us in areas ranging from digital intelligence and warrantry, through to legal casework, policy or analysis. You will develop your skills and confidence whilst you work in roles that directly support the intelligence capability of MI5.
After two years and on passing the Foundation Investigative Training (FIT) course, you’ll be a fully qualified Intelligence Officer ready to move into one of our core investigative sections. You could focus on international or Northern Ireland related terrorism, espionage or hostile foreign states. You’ll set investigative strategies, make recommendations and work with colleagues and the Police to prevent threats. Beyond this you’ll be posted to a business critical role in the wider Intelligence Officer family.
