Summer Diversity Intelligence Internship

Job description

Do something amazing this summer

An internship at MI5 is like no other. Here, you’ll enjoy a summer of discovery and responsibility, learning how we keep the country safe. It’s a challenge that calls for people from a range of backgrounds with different skills and knowledge, which is why we want you to join our welcoming team.

Over 11 weeks, you’ll help us investigate and disrupt international terrorism. You’ll learn how front-line operations are run, plus, you’ll piece together intelligence and create a picture of possible threats. By the end of the placement, you’ll understand how everyone plays a part in protecting national security.

On our internship, you’ll get a unique insight into how we work. There’ll be the chance to create strategies, explain risks to a range of audiences and work as part of a close-knit, multi-disciplinary team. With mentors, managers and buddies, you’ll have the support to make the most of this opportunity and maybe take the first step towards a hugely fulfilling career. As the internship comes to a close, you might have the chance to apply for the Intelligence Officer Development Programme (IODP), and join us after you graduate. For full details of eligibility, see our website.

The internship will run from the 23 June to the 4 September for 11 weeks. We offer pro rata annual leave, which means you’ll get five days off, plus a competitive salary. And of course, you’ll be free to enjoy organisation-wide events where you can learn and network.
