Job description

Moore Stephens LLP’s National Sales Team is responsible for generating new business to help meet the Firm’s strategic growth targets. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the sales team of the London office of Moore Stephens, a Top 10 UK and global accountancy and advisory firm supporting the sales team based in London, Thames Valley and Midlands.

The role will work with the sales team and the firm’s business units to support focused sales administrative support and business development activity, and will gain experience of a range of industry sectors, accounting and advisory services and marketing tactics. Whilst the role will be largely based in the sales team, it will directly support other parts of the business therefore gaining valuable experience and exposure to various areas of the firm.


Sales administrative support

  • Provide general administrative and secretarial support to the business and assist with correspondence including LoE's and KYC etc
  • Responsible for general administrative tasks
  • Assisting with team commissions sheets, third party invoices and fee notes
  • Diary management for internal team meetings and events including organising travel and accommodation
  • Assist with reporting for both LLP and MSUK
  • Assist with new joiner on-boarding
  • Responsible for ensuring key databases are kept accurate and up to date at all times

Business development

  • Dealing with prospects, clients, employees and senior members of organisations in a professional manner
  • Prepare research packs/ material for prospect meetings
  • Book meetings with prospects for sales teams from marketing campaigns or events
  • Liaise with marketing and assist with creating presentations/documents where necessary
  • Assist with pipeline for sectors
  • Undertake research for presentations, proposals, prospect lists, sales meetings and market/sector issues.
  • Plan and arrange internal and external meetings, including client lunches and refreshments,
  • Attend relevant meeting, take and distribute minutes of meetings where necessary
  • Any other adhoc duties as necessary
  • Has ‘on-the-job’ knowledge of the technical procedures and application for own subject area, gained through experience
  • Undertakes specific activities within clearly defined procedures with limited decision making
  • Understands the roles and assigned responsibilities of others in the immediate work area in order to complete own work
  • Makes judgements by selecting between pre-defined solutions as well as evaluating and analysing factual information
  • Communicates and exchanges information with colleagues (and / or clients) on a regular basis
  • Performs complex administrative tasks with limited direction


  • Be aware of and comply with the firm’s policies at all times
  • Record time accurately using the Practice Management System (PMS)
  • Any other duties appropriate to the level of responsibility of this post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training
  • Be aware of the firm’s risk management and practice assurance procedures and ensure compliance
  • Ensure continuing professional development is up-to-date at all times

  • Basic understanding of professional services, preferably within the accounting market
  • Basic knowledge of Moore Stephens LLP, its services and sectors
  • May be studying towards a professional qualification or possesses commensurate professional experience


  • Three A-levels, excluding general studies, at grade B (120 UCAS points), or equivalent, and a grade 2:1 or above in any undergraduate degree, or equivalent or:
  • A 2:1 or above in an undergraduate degree, or equivalent, listed as a ‘relevant field of study’ or:
  • A 2:1 or above in any undergraduate degree, or equivalent, and a merit or above in a master’s degree listed as a ‘relevant field of study’.

  • Accounting and/or finance
  • Any business focused degree (e.g. international business, business management, business studies and business analytics, business administration) only if combined with an accounting or finance module
  • Chemistry
  • Economics
  • Engineering
  • Maths
  • Medicine
  • Physics
  • Statistics
  • Any combinations of the above subjects e.g. economics and maths, but not economics and law.
