Engineering Level-Three Apprenticeship - Tutbury

Job description

Nestlé Academy has built its reputation as a continual innovator over a history of more than a century and a half. So, for an ambitious Food Manufacturing Apprentice, it really is the best of both worlds. A safe, secure business with which to build a successful career but, also, the kind of employer that encourages you to try new ways of doing things.

That’s why we’re now looking for people who love exploring ideas. Does that sound like you? Have you been looking for a head-start in your career? Looking at your options and opportunities? That bold, impressive ability to look critically at your choices is just what we want to see from the next generation of Nestlé innovators.

What can you expect?
Your skills will grow to match the scale of our operations, as will your flexibility to turn your hand to new challenges and master new equipment. Not to mention ensuring that you cover all the basics in safety, quality and hygiene.

We’ve seen previous Apprentices go on to become highly successful engineering specialists, maintenance managers, project engineers and engineering managers, looking after large teams and responsible for multi-million pound budgets. To keep you on-track your starting salary will increase each year on successful completion of your training.

Who are we looking for?
We’re after individuals who just need the chance to show how they can make a difference, add value and excel – we’re the largest food and drinks manufacturer in the world, so this is a unique opportunity. The apprenticeship starts in September 2019. To be considered, you will need: five GCSEs or equivalent (actual or predicted) at grades 9 - 4 (or A* - C if received in 2017 or previous), which must include English and maths.

If you want to really have an impact on the working world, this is the programme for you. We’re looking for ambitious, passionate people, who will take the initiative and are full of great ideas, all underpinned by a desire to learn new skills. It’ll take commitment, a commercial mind-set and a heck of a lot of hard work. In short, it’ll take people who want to build a lasting career full of exciting challenges.

Due to shift working, there is a minimum age requirement for this role and therefore to be eligible you must be 18 by 1 September 2019.

Training
This is a four-year UK wide programme which is split between college and workplace. The initial college period is twenty weeks where you will be residential at Storthes Hall just outside Huddersfield. This provides a great opportunity for you to build relationships with all your peers from around the country who are on the course too. We will cover all travel and accommodation costs, including meal allowances. This will help supplement your on the job work experience, learning about our electrical and mechanical technology and how it makes us the global market leader we are.

Join us and you’ll:

  • Gain a level-three food and drink Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Potentially become a qualified, multi-skilled Nestlé engineer who will join the team in continually improving our processes and maintaining our machinery to the highest standards
  • Develop skills in mechanical fitting, turning, welding, isolation, planned maintenance and root cause analysis
  • Learn how to thrive at problem solving, developing standards and coaching others
  • Access great benefits, training and development, all in a fantastic working environment
