Finance Apprenticeship

Job description

Working in Finance for the world’s largest food and drink manufacturer – one with lots of big well-known brands, is an exciting place to be! The team are always involved in the conversation, so you’ll certainly never be bored. Your two-year Apprenticeship will be in either York or Gatwick. Wherever you’re based, you’ll build up strong foundations across Finance as you move around different areas of the function, learning your trade. These might include a stint focusing on ‘Reporting’ – where you’ll learn all about interpreting data in a way that’s full of insight, or ‘Partnering the Business’ – where you’ll focus managing relationships and keeping customers sweet.

From here you can expect to work in a specific support area, either in York or Gatwick, including the likes of ‘planning and reporting’, ‘overhead and cost allocation’, ‘financial services’ and more.

Innovation matters at every level of our business. So, as a Finance Apprentice, you’ll learn how to channel your innovative nature into seriously creative business solutions. Much more than just an alternative to university, you’ll be working on real projects while being mentored by industry experts. Putting your knowledge into practice but still learning all the time.

It’ll give you a practical understanding of our finance department, the likes of which people going to uni just won’t get for a long time! So you’ll already be in the role best suited to your abilities with a Level 4 Professional Accounting/Tax Technical Apprenticeship under your belt, by the time they graduate.

Who we are looking for
Finance affects every aspect of this company. So you’re going to need to be able to communicate well with people from right across it and at every level. If you’ve ever worked in customer service, you know the kind of thing we’re talking about. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

This being Finance, you’ll obviously need a head for figures and plenty of confidence when it comes to processing and interpreting data. Not to mention 5 GCSEs or equivalent (actual or predicted) grades 9-4 (A*-C if taken before 2017) including English and Maths, and the willingness to relocate to York or Gatwick.

Ultimately, we want people who are really going to go for it and respond quickly to training on their way to a serious career as a Finance professional. Because that’s what’s on offer, here. You ready?

Benefits
We’re committed to improving people’s lives in everything we do. And that includes our employees. We want you to love your job and to feel rewarded for the contribution you make, so you can expect a competitive salary, plus all sorts of benefits. These include an annual bonus (as long as you meet certain criteria); shift allowance (where applicable); m embership of the Nestlé UK or Nestlé Ireland pension fund; access to our flexible reward scheme - where you can take advantage of the benefits that best suit you. And, if you work in our York or Gatwick head offices, you can even bring your four legged friend to work. Pretty good eh?
