Food Manufacturing Level-Three Apprenticeship - Fawdon

Job description

Nestlé Academy has built its reputation as a continual innovator over a history of more than a century and a half. So, for an ambitious Food Manufacturing Apprentice, it really is the best of both worlds. A safe, secure business with which to build a successful career but, also, the kind of employer that encourages you to try new ways of doing things.

That’s why we’re now looking for people who love exploring ideas. Does that sound like you? Have you been looking for a head-start in your career? Looking at your options and opportunities? That bold, impressive ability to look critically at your choices is just what we want to see from the next generation of Nestlé innovators.

What can you expect?
As the world’s largest food and drinks manufacturer, apprenticeships don’t come bigger than this. This is your opportunity to be trained in how to operate in a food production environment, improving work practices, learning about quality, safety and hygiene with a huge array of products and processes.

Once into your apprenticeship we will be looking for you to analyse and improve what we have, to keep us fresh and innovative. You’ll look at our processes and will use your skills, training and ideas to keep our world-class manufacturing operations moving forward.

Each year your salary will increase on successful completion of your training and your upward progression could see you fast becoming one of our experts in a range of fields.

Who are we looking for?
We’re after individuals who just need the chance to show how they can make a difference, add value and excel – we’re the largest food and drinks manufacturer in the world, so this is a unique opportunity. The apprenticeship starts in September 2019. To be considered, you will need: five GCSEs or equivalent (actual or predicted) at grades 9 - 4 (or A* - C if received in 2017 or previous), which must include English and maths.

If you want to really have an impact on the working world, this is the programme for you. We’re looking for ambitious, passionate people, who will take the initiative and are full of great ideas, all underpinned by a desire to learn new skills. It’ll take commitment, a commercial mind-set and a heck of a lot of hard work. In short, it’ll take people who want to build a lasting career full of exciting challenges.

Due to shift working, there is a minimum age requirement for this role and therefore to be eligible you must be 18 by 1 September 2019.

Training
This is a three-year UK wide programme which is split between college and workplace. This will encompass six modules over the first two years immersing you in key topics. Each module lasts one week and will be off-site at a college. This provides a great opportunity for you to build relationships with your peers outside the workplace. We will cover all travel and accommodation costs, including meal allowances.

Join us and you’ll:

  • Gain a Level-three Advanced Food and Drink Process Operator Apprenticeship qualification
  • Become a future developed operator, technical operator or lead operator, who will help us continually improve our processes and maintain our machinery to the highest standards
  • Gain an understanding of how we make our products, including the science behind our processes
  • Access great benefits, training and development, all in a fantastic working environment
