If you’re an ambitious engineering student who doesn’t have the option of a year in industry as part of your degree, our Summer Placements are designed for you. It’ll be a summer like no other. You’ll gain experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. Put your studies into practice. And develop skills by working alongside our team of talented Engineers.
It’s up to a maximum of ten weeks – at our busiest time. That means more opportunities than ever to get involved in some of our biggest, most exciting projects. That’s not to say it’ll be overwhelming. From day one, we’ll assign you a mentor to provide, support, guidance and advice during your time with us. The Summer Engineering Placement even offers the chance to make contacts that could prove invaluable in your final year, and after graduation. As with our Placement Scheme, you’ll be able to identify projects in the department that you could use for your final year dissertation too. So, make your summer truly count on an Engineering Placement Scheme that will help you to stand out from the crowd.
Your responsibilities will be dependent on which section of the Engineering or Quality Engineering Department you will work in. These include:
- Current model support
- Quality improvement
- Cost reduction
- Facility efficiency improvements
- New model introduction
- Vehicle design for manufacture
- Strategic planning
- Technical support
