Russel studied business management at university before joining the procurement management scheme based at Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) in Cranfield
What’s a typical day like?
It could involve section meetings with your managers to set out your objectives for the day. I also visit local and overseas suppliers throughout the week.
Why did you choose Nissan’s graduate scheme?
I was looking for a role which gave me real freedom, responsibility and accountability. This is everything I have been able to get from the scheme so far.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy the travel. In my role it is really beneficial to meet face-to-face with suppliers to see the production first hand and give me the opportunity to ask technical questions about the product.
What support do you have on the graduate scheme?
You are allocated a mentor which is someone you speak to for reassurance or to ask any questions. This is helpful when you are settling into your new role to have someone to talk to if you need it.
Would you recommend the Nissan graduate scheme?
Nissan is a great company to work for, with competitive pay and a lot of benefits for graduates. You have the freedom to make choices and access to different opportunities which you may not get elsewhere. Nissan is a great platform to start your career.
