Job description

The successful candidate will be reporting directly into the Engineering / Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for leading the safe delivery of the following types of projects undertaken in previous years:

  • High Voltage and Low Voltage Distribution o Distribution mapping o High Voltage Discrimination - Protection settings
  • Electrical supply analysis o Mapping systems loads through-out the facility o Harmonics and Power factor Correction - Plant Sequencing and Diversity
  • Energy Management - PLC integration for energy meters o Energy reduction initiatives. Variable Speed Drives LED lighting
  • Working with our Electrical department to identify reliability opportunities related to variable speed drives; Preventive and predictive maintenance routines o Inventory analysis including spare part recommendations o Life-cycle concerns related to reliability and product support
  • Statutory requirements and documentation. Electrical power analysis; Mapping loads through-out the facility and though-out the day and month; Measuring harmonics within the process
  • Electrical :Working with the Electrical department to identify reliability opportunities related to variable speed drives; Preventive and predictive maintenance routines; Inventory analysis including spare part recommendations; Life-cycle concerns related to reliability and product support
  • Installation -Working with the install team for new spark detection system(s); Creating preventive and predictive maintenance routines; Inventory analysis including spare part recommendations; Establishing future life-cycle concerns related to reliability and product support
  • Installation : Working with the install team on upgrading Induced draft fan variable speed drives and associated switches
  • Post Placement – presentation to Senior Management E

The successful candidates will be employed as Graduate Placement Engineers in the Electrical Engineering discipline. Working with Norbord will enable them to experience an immersive, hands-on experience. They will develop in-depth understanding and knowledge of their chosen area - working on live projects and getting on and off-the-job training. It all combines to show how the different parts of our business interact. They will also have access to an active support network of line managers, and mentors, all on hand to help them get the most from their experiences and make the right decisions
