LLW Repository Ltd is responsible for operating the UK’s national Low Level Waste (LLW) facility in Cumbria, providing a broad range of LLW management solutions for nuclear industry waste producers. The company is also responsible for the National Waste Programme (NWP), which leads the implementation of the UK Solid LLW Strategy on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority; working with a wide range of stakeholders to do so.
LLW Repository Ltd are looking to sponsor a graduate on the nucleargraduates programme to work with their business management team. The team provide support to the wider organisation for governance, funding allocations, financial reporting, project controls, IT and programme management.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to and experience the financial elements of running a business and an insight into governance frameworks, business cases and progress reporting requirements of the nuclear industry. The successful graduate will be highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to influence and gain confidence of internal stakeholders and be capable of analysing problems and generating workable solutions.
Gaining knowledge of both day-to-day transactional activities within the department and potentially leading some strategic improvement and change initiatives this is a unique opportunity to enhance your understanding of business and financial management.

Your nucleargraduates programme will be broken down into technical and behavioural training. It will be structured against the needs of the institute with whom you’re aiming to gain chartered status. You will come together with your fellow graduates to complete ‘core’ training as well as having the benefit of an individual training budget for training specific to your personal development.
On top of this you will spend 10% of your time with us to Footprints, our corporate social responsibility programme. You will have the opportunity to become a STEM ambassador, passing on your knowledge and enthusiasm to the next generation of scientists and engineers. nucleargraduates is a ground-breaking graduate scheme created by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and sponsored by Sellafield Ltd, Rolls-Royce, Jacobs, International Nuclear Services and the Office for Nuclear Regulation amongst others. The scheme is also involved with more than 20 other industry stakeholders.
This two year programme consists of three secondments; you can expect to find yourself working with Government, on-site, with the private sector supply chain and regulatory authorities. Graduates will also have an excellent possibility of going on an international secondment.

Qualifications and experience requirements
Candidates must have an attained or expected result of 2.1 or above in Business, Finance or Accountacy.

Successful applicants will then be invited to complete online numerical and verbal tests and a video interview followed by a two-day assessment centre that will assess candidates across a range of competencies. After the selection process has been completed successful candidates will be made a formal offer on to the nucleargraduates programme.
