Job description

Robinwood Group Leaders work with groups of 8 to 11 year old children giving them a fantastic opportunity to experience a range of activities which they wouldn't normally have the chance to experience in the classroom environment.

We require Group Leaders to lead and develop groups of children in a variety of adventurous and team-building activities including climbing, canoeing, zip wire, archery, themed problem solving and indoor caving at our three activity centres in Todmorden (West Yorkshire), Alston (Cumbria) and our newest centre in Wrexham, North Wales.

Everyone starts work at the Group Leader level but as Robinwood only promote staff from within the company, there are excellent opportunities for career development for the best staff at all levels right up to senior management.

More details about Robinwood and the jobs available can be found on the Robinwood Careers website.

Company information

Robinwood is a leading provider of residential activity courses for primary school groups, with four activity centres in the North of England and North Wales. We run three-day courses for 8-11 year old children and offer a timetable packed with themed problem solving, team building and adventurous activities. Our aim is to make a positive difference developing children.

Robinwood started out in 1995 with one activity centre and has grown year on year. Many thousands of children have attended Robinwood courses over those 20 years and now some of our first attenders are even returning to work for the company! We are very proud of our staff team and have achieved a number of awards for our training, customer service and the quality of our provision for staff. We receive outstanding feedback from the schools who attend each year and carefully monitor and respond to that feedback to provide the ultimate course for our customers.

Person requirements

We welcome applications from positive, enthusiastic people who have some experience (paid or voluntary) working with children. We run a values-based selection procedure so your employment history is less important to us than your ethos and personality.

Qualifications and experience requirements

Qualifications in our activities are not necessary as we provide all training. If you're enthusiastic and fun, have an ability to relate to 8-11 year olds and tell a good story, you could be the person for us.

Accepted degree subjects

Competitive starting salary rising with time served, profit bonus, team and individual performance bonuses, company pension scheme, 4 day working week, school holidays off.
