Roke are looking to develop the next generation of world leading cyber experts, join Roke as Graduate in 2018 in our Cyber Business Areas and you will get the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects for a variety of different customers. These projects will vary from small one-two person teams to larger teams of up to 10 engineers delivering using Agile methodologies. The Cyber business areas at Roke provide an opportunity to exploit a wide range of skills including research, reverse engineering, software development and threat analysis.

Training
On joining Roke you will be enrolled on the Roke Graduate Development Programme. Containing 15 carefully designed modules combined with continuous mentoring, you’ll have the knowledge and capabilities needed to make a smooth transition from student to professional engineer. You'll also be given specialist training geared towards your career path and designed to enhance your individual skill set.

These roles will be based at either our Romsey or Gloucester offices therefore, when applying please state which location you would prefer.

Due to the nature of this position, candidates must be willing to undergo, and eligible to achieve HMG security clearance (prior to appointment). As a result, candidates should be a British Citizen; and have resided in the UK for the last five years.

Person requirements

As well as the mandatory skills we require from all of our Graduates ( ie to work autonomously, document writing, etc) to join as a graduate in the cyber business areas we require you to have two or more of the following skills and a keen interest in the cyber domain:

  • High Level software development (e.g. Java/C++)
  • Low level programming and scripting (e.g. C, Python, Bash)
  • An understanding of Linux internals (e.g. custom Kernel development and building )
  • Network traffic analysis and simulation (e.g. use of Wireshark, protocol reverse engineering, network test emulator development)
  • Software reverse engineering (e.g x86 or arm decompilation and analysis, use of IDAPro)

Qualifications and experience requirements

We are looking to take on 40 new graduates in 2017, competition is high with over 200 applicants each year. You will need a good honours degree in one of the following or related subjects:

  • Electrical and electronic engineering
  • Systems engineering
  • Physics
  • Computer science
  • Mathematics
  • Software engineering
