Through working with young people to shape, influence and inspire their aspirations and dreams, our profession is immensely rewarding, perpetually interesting and frequently challenging. Established in 2012, the Teaching School Alliance has enabled a large number of graduates to develop the skills and characteristics to secure work and join a profession that makes such a difference to the lives of so many. This is so much more than just a training course. You will receive wrap-around support throughout the training programme and beyond with expert advice and assistance to successfully gain a teaching position.

What we are looking for

We are looking for candidates who have an empathy and understanding of the demands of teaching in the secondary classroom. They should enjoy working with young people and see teaching as a wider professional duty that does not finish at 3pm. Confidence in front of a classroom of teenagers is essential, which is why we would encourage all applicants to find some voluntary observation experience before applying. As part of the interview process you will be required to teach part of a lesson so we can gauge your ability to engage with our young people. We are looking for the highest quality graduates who may well bring further work related experience from previous careers which can help to strengthen their application

We are looking for applicants who are able to commit the time needed to the training programme which will include extra academic assignments and study. We also want candidates who are keen to be involved in the wider pastoral and extra-curricular life of our schools and who can give the time to this during their training year.
