We are Skanska. One of the UK’s leading construction contractors, we’re an inclusive, responsible business that’s helping to build a better society. Known for major projects, such as the Gherkin and Crossrail, we are building, upgrading and maintaining the country’s infrastructure. Drawing on our Scandinavian heritage, we are green, innovative and progressive. We bring together people and technology, as part of our quest to make construction a safer and more collaborative industry.
We believe that people are the heart of our business. It's why we place such a strong emphasis on creating the right working culture. One that's based on collective respect for ethics and principles, where you're encouraged to really make the most of your talents in a supportive and caring environment.
If you have, or are studying toward, a bachelor's or master's degree and are looking to specialise in a particular profession, our two-year development programme can help you develop your skills and experience to realise your career goals.
We offer placements for eight-weeks over the summer or a year-out that will give you a great chance to find out more about your chosen profession - and Skanska - before your apply for a full-time role with us.
Trainees and Apprentices
Our trainee and apprentice programmes give you a great opportunity to gain further qualifications at university or college. The course will be related to your job role and is usually completed through a day-release study programme. Everybody will also have the exciting opportunity to complete a Duke of Edinburgh award. It’s something that truly aligns to our values and will help you to develop the skills to thrive in your new role.
Joining us in any one of a range of technical and supporting roles, you'll discover plenty of opportunities to grow your experience across the breadth of projects, and make an impact on the world around you. You'll realise the potential of what we can do together, to build for a better society and help shape the future.
We thrive through embracing differences, whether they be social backgrounds, ethnicity, disability, gender, age, religion, sexuality and any other protected characteristic – we know that diversity opens a rich potential for new ways of thinking, helping us to build successful and winning teams. We call it Naturally Skanska.
