Job description

Our graduate programme will help you develop your skills and experience, build on your degree and help you realise your career goals that much quicker.
As a Graduate Buyer you’ll complete all aspects of our two year Skanska graduate programme, including the delivery of two key projects, and training and development that is unique to Skanska.

What you’ll do:

  • Learn about the negotiation and placing of material, logging and maintenance of orders, administration of sub-contractor details, performance data and input of information to the database
  • Support with minimising the cost of materials and plant, improving service level agreements (with suppliers and internal departments)
  • Obtain quotations to tight deadlines, negotiate with suppliers, and progress the provision of materials and services to meet contract programmes and deadlines
  • Support with the implementation of strategic procedural and practical changes to increase productivity and performance.

Person requirements

  • Naturally results driven, holding some technical software knowledge and experience, specifically in multiple purchasing systems
  • You’ll be flexible with your location and be prepared to relocate (if required) as our roles can be located anywhere across the UK

Qualifications and experience requirements

  • Studying to degree level, having completed a BSc or MSc in an business related subject
  • No previous experience in construction is required but you will want to help us shape the future and build for a better society
