The opportunity to join us as an intern is one that is unique, challenging and rewarding. We are currently looking for future leaders to join the internship programme in our Edinburgh or London office within our Distribution stream.

Distribution is the face of Aberdeen Standard Investments to our clients. Our role is to understand what investors need and make sure we have the solutions in place to meet those needs. Constantly changing markets and client needs make for a fast-paced and varied environment for interns to being their career.

From day one, you’ll contribute to our ambitions whilst developing your skills and knowledge in the industry. Over the 10 week summer placement you will be given real work with tangible outputs within the Distribution stream, allowing you to gain exposure to real business situations, with real responsibility.

Our distribution stream will give you the opportunity to work in teams that connect our clients to our products. The three core areas of this stream are Distribution, Marketing and Product.

All areas of this stream are core in supporting our investors through their investment journey. Regardless of which team you join you will get the same depth of experience; getting the opportunity to work with seasoned professionals across our business. You will be based with the same team throughout the placement.

Programme summary
At Aberdeen Standard Investments, we look to develop our colleagues from the beginning of their career. During the ten-week internship programme you will build knowledge within the department you are in as well as having the opportunity to build a network with other interns and wider colleagues.

As well as on the job learning, you will have access to a wide range of E learning courses and the opportunity to attend business information sessions for interns.

On completion of your summer internship you will be considered for a position on our graduate programme starting in 2019. In addition to a structured development plan, our graduates are given the opportunity to rotate across our business during the 24 month programme. This programme gives graduates the chance to start their career in a highly supportive team environment, whilst gaining skills, experience along with support through further qualifications.

Person requirements

We are looking for candidates who are interested in learning about the industry and confident in collaborating with others.

We need people with strong analytical skills and a passion for problem solving. Risk interns need to build relationships and communicate effectively, whatever the situation. You’ll need the desire to collaborate too, so you can make the most of your strengths.

Qualifications and experience requirements

All our internships require you to be on track for a first or 2:1 degree at undergraduate level in any degree discipline. In addition to this, we are looking for candidates who are interested in learning about the industry and confident in collaborating with others.
