As a graduate working as part of our People Function team, you will help ensure our business has the structure, talent and leadership to operate at its best. Our team aims to innovate, improve and lead change, so that our people deliver for our customers and clients.
You’ll help with the delivery of large-scale business change, develop strategies to attract, retain and develop our talent, and support leaders to create a great working environment for all employees.

During your rotational placements, you’ll develop the influencing, stakeholder management and consultancy skills to become a successful HR professional. Our HR placements are varied to build your capabilities across a number of different HR disciplines and commercial contexts.
You’ll have a placement manager, mentor and buddy. There are opportunities to learn from senior leaders. And there’s support towards a Masters in HR Management, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
- Duration: Two-year programme
- Structure: Up to four rotational placements (across both the Standard Life and Aberdeen Standard Investments People Teams)
- Development: Scope to study towards Masters in HR Management, CIPD accredited

Qualifications and experience requirements
In addition to at least a 2:1 degree in any discipline, our graduates need a genuine interest in HR, and a keen desire to keep learning. You also need the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively and be able to see the bigger picture – to help us identify ways to improve how we operate in the future.
