At Taylor Wimpey we are evolving and for any graduate who is enthusiastic, adaptable and eager to learn an exciting journey awaits you. The graduate programme will provide you with the technical expertise, business breadth and development to be successful and fast track you into leadership.
It doesn't matter if you have no knowledge of the industry or a construction related degree, you'll learn everything you need to know throughout the two year programme. Our General Graduate scheme will enable you to gain a full appreciation of the build life cycle, support functions, understand why Taylor Wimpey is one of the UKs leading housebuilders and at the end of the programme you will be offered a permanent role in a discipline that aligns to your career aspirations.
The programme runs for two years and begins with a four-day residential induction where you will learn more about the business, meet other graduates in your cohort and hear from previous graduates and their journeys. Over the two years you will also attend various personal development sessions and you will have the opportunity to work on projects both for the business and for charity.
For the first six months you will be rotating around the various business functions; land, technical, commercial, sales, construction, finance, and customer service. Once completed you will then undertake three x six-month placements in specific business functions. In your placement you will be provided with meaningful work whilst still exposing you to the wider operations of that discipline. These placements will be undertaken at different regional locations dependant on your division.
Each of our graduates will be assigned a buddy which will enable you to settle into your role and have access to a mentor to support your ongoing development.
You will also have the opportunity to undertake business and charity projects to widen your business breadth throughout the programme. Included but not limited to:
- Corporate social responsibility project
- Graduate business case challenge
- Graduate networking events
