Software Development Engineer Intern

Job description

Our software engineers continue to lead the way, building technology that can have a real impact on our customers. Our 10-week paid summer programme will give you exposure to a selection of the latest technologies. It aims to equip you with the right knowledge and skills to become one of our future engineering leaders. You’ll be able to bring your knowledge and experience to life, helping us to better serve our customers. We’ll also show you how to architect some of the most complex and ambitious software systems being built. Using agile principles, you’ll learn how to protect customer data, how to automate and how to build large scale systems.

You’ll experience the breadth of software engineering with the opportunity to spend time in our front-end or back-end development teams. You’ll be paired with other engineers in your team from a range of backgrounds (from others interns to experienced managers) and work closely with your product managers to build software for either our customers or colleagues. Our software engineering teams work across our London and Welwyn offices with the possibility of a placement in either location.

A successful internship with us can guarantee your place on our Technology Software Engineering Graduate Programme when you graduate - before you’ve even started your final year of study.

Programme start date: June 2025.

Everyone’s welcome

To us, inclusivity means everyone’s voice is heard and you feel comfortable bringing every part of yourself to work. We celebrate and value everything that makes you, you. We make sure that all colleagues have equal access to opportunities. We’re a big business with diverse working patterns and lots of business areas. So, we can find something that works for you.

What we are looking for

We’re looking for interns with a passion for technology. Although you require a degree to apply for this role, it’s not vital you’re studying for a degree in computer science. However, you must be able to demonstrate your ability to write quality code. Which is assessed during the application process of the programme. We’re looking for individuals who are keen to learn and build their skills, and who enjoy the challenge of working with something new.
