As a placement in Merchandising and Buying, you’ll get experience of both areas of the business to fully understand how your work impacts our results, and how key the relationship between merchandising and buying truly is.
On this exciting 12-month placement, you’ll get hands-on experience of both these areas of the business to fully understand how your work impacts our results, and how key the relationship between merchandising and buying truly is.
You’ll start with a comprehensive induction that combines classroom learning with store visits, team meetings and workshops. With the support of a huge network including your manager, mentor and buddy, you’ll start to develop the people skills and technical know-how of the professionals.
Then you’ll put what you’ve learned into practice. You’ll start in Merchandising as an Allocation Analyst, analysing sales patterns, anticipating product trends and learning to spot opportunities. Then you’ll shadow an experienced Buyer. You’ll discover how we source, plan and buy every day of the year, based not on a fixed plan but on responding to an ever-changing market. What’s more, you’ll play an active part in making it all happen. You will have a real job with accountability and the opportunity to work in a fun and exciting environment.

Alongside the requirements listed below, if you have European language skills – particularly Italian, German, Spanish and French – that would be great. And if you’ve lived and worked in Europe, even better. In a business like ours, these are great assets to have.
- About to undergo a 12-month Industrial Placement as part of your third year of any sandwich degree course
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities
- The ability to think creatively and strategically
- Able to thrive in a constantly changing environment where decisions happen quickly and everyone works together to make the incredible possible
