Graduate Trainee Business Strategist

Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Graduate to work alongside our Regional Strategy Manager as part of the Graduate Development Programme, to assist on various work streams across the London Region.

You will be gaining valuable experience in contract development and management, business negotiations and other service/business improvements. Your work will cover a number of workstreams at any one time, which may focus on a single contract or service area, or relate to the London region as a whole.

Work will involve analysis of existing practices and strategies to identify areas for improvement, and the development of innovative methods to achieve company goals. You will be developing business relationships through direct meetings and other communications with internal teams and managers, municipal clients, commercial customers and suppliers, and other industry personnel.

About your development

As part of the Graduate Development Programme, you will go through a structured management development programme, undertaking leadership and management modules with your graduate cohort. You will be supported in this by our People Development team.

  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels within the organisation, as well as external clients, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding of business policy, strategy and finance
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Interest in the waste industry

Degree level qualification in business (2:1 minimum by September 2020)
