Job description

As our new Commercial Graduate you’ll be fully immersed in our Commercial Department, having the opportunity to rotate across our three main teams over the two-year programme:

  • Commercial projects – responsible for the evaluation of R&D and business development opportunities
  • Major contracts - who are responsible for our long term and commercial contracts and includes ensuring our fleet of energy recovery facilities have sufficient fuel and our Landfill portfolio receives appropriate tonnage; and Local Authority Development (Bids) – who produce our tenders to win local authority contracts.

Each rotation will allow you to gain valuable understanding, knowledge and experience in the full end to end commercial processes within Viridor.

What we are looking for

You’ll have strong relationship building skills as you will be liaising with key stakeholders internally and externally at all levels and a strong communicator. You’ll be a self-starter, motivated and enthusiastic, and able to manage multiple priorities, delivering effectively with an ability to think commercially.

Data management and reporting are also key elements of the role, therefore, attention to detail and a good level of analytical skills are vital.

Experience or knowledge of working within the waste management industry or a large organisation in a similar function would be beneficial but not expected.

As our Commercial Graduate, you’ll have graduated, or will be graduating in 2019, in a relevant degree discipline.
